
One of the questions I get asked all the time is, “What can I actually buy in South Riding?”
Of course, every home is different, but I thought it would be helpful to give you a general idea of what different price points look like in today’s market.
Around $800,000
This is still a great entry point into South Riding if you’re looking for a single-family home. Most buyers can expect around 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, three or four bedrooms, and many homes have already had updates to the kitchen or bathrooms. If a home is priced well and in great condition, it can still move pretty quickly.
Around $1,000,000
Once you get into the million-dollar range, you’ll usually find more space and more upgrades. Many homes offer four or five bedrooms, finished basements, larger lots, and over 3,000 square feet. This is a price point where buyers have quite a few nice options and can often find a home that’s been well maintained and updated over the years.
Around $1,200,000 and Up
This is where you’ll typically find some of South Riding’s largest homes. Expect more custom features, beautifully updated kitchens, spacious primary suites, outdoor living spaces, and in many cases, three-car garages. There aren’t as many homes available in this price range, so when a great one comes on the market, it usually gets a lot of attention.
Every Home Is Different
Keep in mind these are just general guidelines. Two homes at the same price can be very different depending on the lot, location, updates, floor plan, and overall condition.
