Now that the Thanksgiving turkey has been digested, we have flipped the calendar to December and 97.1 is playing round the clock Christmas music, we are officially in the holiday season! If ABC Family’s 25 days of Christmas isn’t quite getting you in the holiday spirit, it’s time to get the kids in the car, flip on 97.1 and check out our list of must see Christmas light displays in Northern Virginia.


1.) Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, Vienna

Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights is a breathtaking display of twinkling lights alongside countless family-friendly events and activities. Special features include Lakeside Lights, Funny Photo Night, special musical performances, face painting and much more. 2.) Bull Run Festival of Lights, Centreville

The Bull Run Festival of Lights is an annual event featuring thousands and thousands of lights, animated displays and Christmas decorations stretching over 2.5 miles at Bull Run Regional Park. The event is a full-on holiday spectacular with a Holiday Village offering bonfires, s’mores, activities for the kids and holiday shopping, plus, a Christmas Carnival and camel rides. 3.) Roer’s Zoofari Chinese Lantern Festival – Vienna


Now under new ownership, Roer;s Zoofari, formally known as “The Reston Zoo” adds an interesting twist to our list. While their Chinese Lantern Festival doesn’t exactly scream Christmas, it will still make for an amazing family outing.

The zoo will be filled with more than 40 lantern sets and 800 bright displays as part of its ongoing Chinese Lantern Festival starting Nov. 16. running through Jan 1. Visitors will be transported throughout the world as they walk among Chinese lanterns shaped like lions, tigers, monkeys and even dinosaurs.
